Fulfill Your Life
There is a certain feeling you get throughout life that lets you know something isn’t right. You either know your goals and feel like accomplishment is out of reach, or you just haven’t discovered what you want to do. During these times, we feel empty. We feel unfulfilled.
One day, hopefully far into the future, I’m going to have to look back on my life and ask myself, “Did I live a good life?” Think about that for a second…that is the ultimate goal, in my opinion. Every single person on this planet has a different criteria that will answer that question. It seems like it could be a lifelong search for that criteria, but I believe it’s actualy right in front of you.
Many things that we enjoy have a bad reputation. For me, it’s video games. I love games that let me use my imagination, or have a storyline that could be mistaken for a best-selling novel. I also love sports games, because it gives me the chance to do something I couldn’t in real life. A lot of times I feel like I’m wasting my time when I do it because gaming has such a “lazy-mind” connotation to it. But you know what? I know why I like it, and it’s not because I’m lazy or because I want to have mindless fun. To me, it’s like reading a good book or watching a great movie.
Anyway, the point isn’t to talk about how much I like video games, it’s to make you realize that you need to do what makes you happy. You’ll look back on those late-night Madden games, waiting for Halo 3 at midnight, the “one-more-turn” feeling of Civilization IV, and spending all day playing Grand Theft Auto. It applies to all sorts of hobbies and interests. Don’t worry about what other people think…fulfill your life.

I think to fullfill your life can mean alot of different things to alot of different people. But I think that if you strip away the layers of the onion you will find at the very epicenter of it all, is just a longing for peace. To know what you did while you were on this planet takes our species a step further closer to humanity. After all we are humans. At one time for me it was a nice car (got that) a house (getting that) and a business (oh boy do i have that and be careful what you wish for ! you just may get it! j/k)now i realize these are egoic interpretations of a fullfilled life. For at the end of these wants when they are obtained the novelty quickly wears off. Recently I think I have had an epiphany and realized all the materials in the world does nothing for you in at the end your life meantnothing. I recently watched a great movie “the bucket list” and morgan freeman said in it, how do you gauge your life? I gauge mine by how many gauged theirs to it. thats deep, i feel trying to be the rock in the sand when the breeze blows hard is so seldom seen yet truthfully so needed in todays world.
I truley praise those I have met along the way that share this belief and very gratious to be a part of this wonderful thing called life.
Another great film, Gotti when Anthony Quinn playing neil delacroche is on his death bed he says to gotti
“In my day I was so strong, i could go 3 days without sleep……Johnny boy….. This whole fucking thing
lasts….only 5 minutes..” then dies. touching, corny and very real. fullfill your life every waking moment.
one last movie qoute,
the last samuraui,
when asked by tom cruise what is the meaning of life, and how jaded a warrior becomes thru life
Katzimoto replies
“We are all dying.
To know life in every breath, in every cup of tea, in every life we take. That is Bushido – the way of the warrior.”
