Fulfill Your Life

There is a certain feeling you get throughout life that lets you know something isn’t right. You either know your goals and feel like accomplishment is out of reach, or you just haven’t discovered what you want to do. During these times, we feel empty. We feel unfulfilled.

One day, hopefully far into the future, I’m going to have to look back on my life and ask myself, “Did I live a good life?” Think about that for a second…that is the ultimate goal, in my opinion. Every single person on this planet has a different criteria that will answer that question. It seems like it could be a lifelong search for that criteria, but I believe it’s actualy right in front of you.

Many things that we enjoy have a bad reputation. For me, it’s video games. I love games that let me use my imagination, or have a storyline that could be mistaken for a best-selling novel. I also love sports games, because it gives me the chance to do something I couldn’t in real life. A lot of times I feel like I’m wasting my time when I do it because gaming has such a “lazy-mind” connotation to it. But you know what? I know why I like it, and it’s not because I’m lazy or because I want to have mindless fun. To me, it’s like reading a good book or watching a great movie.

Anyway, the point isn’t to talk about how much I like video games, it’s to make you realize that you need to do what makes you happy. You’ll look back on those late-night Madden games, waiting for Halo 3 at midnight, the “one-more-turn” feeling of Civilization IV, and spending all day playing Grand Theft Auto. It applies to all sorts of hobbies and interests. Don’t worry about what other people think…fulfill your life.
